About Me

 After retirement from my last position as Business Manager for a historical museum in La Conner, WA, my husband and I spent about two years in the central part of Mexico, in the small town of Patzcuaro, Michoacan. The next phase of our retirement adventures brought us to Salem, Oregon with a desire for me to start a new post-retirement career working in the Oregon wine industry. Seven years with a local Salem winery was rewarding and fun, leading me to launch a new business in 2021 focusing on wine education. 

Like many, I’ve had a variety of careers over the years including customer service in a variety of settings, not-for-profit administration, bookkeeper for small businesses including a veterinarian, and live-in household manager and nanny for families in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. Throughout these experiences the common thread has always been taking care of homes and pets for friends and family – which we even did while in Mexico.

I researched ways to combine my passion for animal welfare with a business which would utilize my previous house and petting sitting experience.  I decided to launch The Purrfect Sitter in February 2015 as a way to provide clients with the same skills and assurance that I look for when I leave home.
